Swiss Steak
Quick, easy, and traditional. This recipe will help you get dinner on the table quickly.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 pounds patio steak
- 2 Tbsp. unbleached white flour
- sea salt & pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 can tomatoes, diced Italian Style, 14.5 oz.
- 1/2 cup onion, yellow , sliced
- 1/2 cup celery , sliced
- 1/2 cup carrots , sliced
Instructions
- Combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle over the steaks and press in.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet.
- Brown the meat on both sides; drain off excess fat.
- Add tomatoes (undrained), onion, celery and carrot and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, until meat is tender.
- Skim off any fat that comes to the surface.
