Stovetop Hot Chocolate
You may never go back to powdered cocoa again!
Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 8 ounces (2/3 bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- In a two-quart saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat. After about 2 minutes, add the chocolate chips. Stir frequently so that the chocolate doesn't scorch. When the mixture is warmed through and the chips are melted and completely combined with the milk, remove from heat and add the vanilla. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream. Serves 3 to 4.
- Optional: Use an immersion blender to froth the hot chocolate before pouring into mugs. Can be served with whipped cream and shaved chocolate on top.
