Slow Cooker Braised Chicken with Car
Let's enjoy some slow-cooker goodness. Braising the chicken gives the dish more flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sweet onion, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 pounds red potatoes
- 3 pounds split chicken breasts
- 1 tsp. paprika
- sea salt & pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Wash and dice potatoes into 1-inch cubes, leaving the skin on.
- In a skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat.
- Add sweet onions and brown sugar.
- Saute until onions caramelize, about 5 minutes.
- Place potatoes and onions in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Pat chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season with paprika, sea salt and pepper.
- Add remaining olive oil to the skillet and brown chicken breasts, skin-side down, for about 4-5 minutes.
- Add chicken and broth to the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 8 hours.
