Italian Sausage with Ravioli
Serve this with some green beans or broccoli, along with a tossed salad, for a complete meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 lb. Italian sausage links
- 1 can crushed tomatoes with basil (28 oz.)
- 1 can tomato puree (28 oz.)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup finely diced onion
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper (optional)
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook ravioli according to package instructions. While cooking the ravioli, in a large skillet, brown Italian sausage links on all sides; cook until no longer pink inside. Remove the sausage links from the skillet and dice. Add the minced garlic and onion to the pan drippings and saute for 2-3 minutes. Then, add the crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, oregano, and green peppers to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and add the diced sausage and heat through. Drain the ravioli and toss with the sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve.
