Barbecue Beef Brisket
This is one of my go-to “fix it and forget it” recipes, especially on a cool and rainy day. I like to serve this with steamed broccoli and Secret Mashed Potatoes for a complete meal. I made this once for a large party, and it was the first dish to go! Choose your family’s favorite flavor of barbeque sauce… see if you can find a brand that is made without high fructose corn syrup.
Ingredients
- 1 3 to 4 pound brisket, preferably trimmed
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tsp. onion powder
- ½ tsp. black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 small bottle barbeque sauce
Instructions
- Brush the bottom of a 9x13 glass baking dish with olive oil.
- Mince garlic cloves using either a garlic press or nutmeg grinder.
- Rub minced garlic into brisket; then season with onion powder and black pepper.
- Pour olive oil over the brisket, then pour the entire bottle of barbeque sauce over that.
- Cover baking dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake at 300 degrees for 3-4 hours.
