Baked Ziti and Sausage
An easy to make Italian classic.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. uncooked ziti
- 1 lb. loose Italian sausage
- 1c. chopped onion
- 3 cloves garlic,
- 28 oz + 15 oz spaghetti sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes undrained
- 2 15 oz cans ricotta
- 2 eggs
- 1 T Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 c. shredded mozarella cheese
- 1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook ziti according to the directions on the package and drain.
- Brown sausage with oninon & garlic.
- Add sauce & tomatoes to the browned sausage mixture.
- Combine ricotta, eggs & seasoning.
- Put pasta in baking dish.
- Add 4 cups of sauce mixture and combine.
- Spoon the ricotta mixture evenly over pasta and top with remaining sauce.
- Bake for 45 minuntes.
- Top with cheeses.
- Cook for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese has melted.
